Frederick Forsyth biography and information

Frederick Forsyth is an bestselling thriller writer, best known for The Day of the Jackal . He served as a jet fighter pilot in the RAF before joining Reuters news agency and later as an assistant diplomatic correspondent for the BBC.

His novels are written using the techniques he learnt as a journalist. Meticulously researched and tightly plotted, they often featuring real life figures such as Charles de Gaulle in The Day of the Jackal or Eduard Roschmann in The Odessa File . His books also suit the big screen almost perfectly and are regularly adapted into feature films.

He was awarded the CBE in 1997 and in 2012 the Crime Writers Association gave Forsyth the Cartier Diamond Dagger in recognition for his work.
