Eloghosa Osunde
An award-winning Nigerian writer and visual artist, Eloghosa Osunde is an alumna of the Lambda Literary Workshop, New York Film Academy and the Caine Prize Workshop. She is a columnist for the Paris Review, and her writing has been published in Granta and Berlin Quarterly amongst others, whilst her visual art has appeared in Vogue, the New York Times and Paper Magazine.
Osunde’s teeming debut novel-in-stories, Vagabonds! (2022) is an unexpectedly joyous examination of oppression and defiance in Lagos, an irresistible literary takedown of Nigerian capitalism and a celebration of queer identities, brimming with magical realism. It was shortlisted for the inaugural Waterstones Debut Fiction Prize, described by our booksellers as fresh, dark and ‘instantly canonical and transgressively anarchic’ all at once.
