David Baldacci is an internationally bestselling American writer, best known for his crime fiction and political thrillers full of action and intrigue.
After finishing his studies at the University of Virginia School of Law, Baldacci worked as a lawyer in Washington D.C. for nine years. His first novel, Absolute Power – featuring a fictional American President with a gory secret – came out in 1996 and became an instant bestseller. It was adapted for screen the following year, starring Clint Eastwood.
Baldacci has written 40 novels for adults, which have been translated into over 45 languages and have sold millions all over the world. He has also published seven novels for younger readers, including his Vega Jane series. His 2015 book The Memory Man opened his hugely successful series featuring FBI investigator Amos Decker – a man with faultless memory. Baldacci’s latest book and the sixth Amos Decker novel, Walk the Wire, is published in April 2020.
