Known primarily for his controversial, transgressive fiction – in particular his 1996 novel Fight Club – Chuck Palahniuk is a bestselling American novelist and journalist. Written after his first novel, Invisible Monsters was rejected by major publishers, Fight Club went on to be adapted into a cult film, winning Palahniuk a legion of fans. His other works include Choke, Survivor, Lullaby – which was famously inspired by the murder of his father by a former convict – Rant, Snuff, Haunted, Damned, Doomed, Fight Club 2 and Adjustment Day.
