Barbara Erskine

Barbara Erskine is a bestselling British author of historical fiction and fantasy. Erskine studied medieval history at Edinburgh University, and subsequently worked in publishing and as a researcher for books on art and history. Erskine’s first novel, Lady of Hay (1986) became an instant bestseller and has remained constantly in print ever since its publication.

Over the years, Erskine has gained a devoted audience for her imaginative storytelling that blends history with elements of the supernatural, and her work has been translated into over twenty languages. She has published sixteen novels, as well as three short story collections. Her latest work, The Dream Weavers (2021) is set in enchanting landscape of the Welsh Hills and moves between Saxon times and the present day.
