Synopsis
Spanish for the Green Industry is written for introductory Spanish courses in Horticulture and Agronomy departments or for introductory Spanish courses in Modern Language departments that service an agricultural student body. English for the Green Industry teaches industry-specific beginning English to Latino labor forces. This will largely be taught through continuing education departments or through Cooperative Extension agents in Agricultural schools. This effective training program, consisting of a text, flash cards, and an audio tape, enables students to learn industry-specific Spanish/English vocabulary necessary to carry out work-related tasks. Students will know how to assign and follow up on tasks as well as to correct and praise behavior. Topics include maintenance, construction, irrigation, safety, and information pertaining to both commercial and residential sites.
