Synopsis

Table-top games in the nursery class provide the opportunity to reinforce and develop skills across the early years curriculum. This book shows how educators can create their own games with the children, using the resources found in the nursery or reception class. There are six chapters, each covering one of SCAA's Areas of Learning for under-fives. Six photocopiable activity sheets provide resources to help make the games or useful extension ideas. The introduction to the book includes useful information for the practitioner on areas such as learning through play, the adult's role, observation, assessment and making links with home.
