Synopsis
This dictionary contains some 120,000 entries from all fields of technology, as well as entries from such fields of science as economics, law, mathematics, social sciences, medicine, informatics and cybernetics. In view of the growing trend of interdisciplinariness in research work, the aim and scope of the dictionary is to meet the requirements for complementariness in relation to special terms from relevant secondary or auxiliary fields of knowledge. The dictionary does not include self-explanatory composite terms, normally glossed under a particular noun, because the adjective is usually a familiar word, or a word which is alphabetically glossed elsewhere. This provides more room for composite terms whose meaning deviates from that of the normal combination of the respecitive words, or which are not self-explanatory.
