Synopsis

This is the second part of actress and television presenter Floella Benjamin's autobiography. Four years after arriving in England from Trinidad, Floella has started to make a life for herself in the face of prejudice and discrimination. Being a black teenager in 1960s Britain isn't easy but she overcomes adversity, faces up to a broken friendship and, in her first job, grasps the opportunity to change people's perceptions. And, when a life-changing moment arrives in the shape of an audition for the musical Hair, she instinctively releases the performer within her. It's time to show her worth - to show the world who she really is.
