The establishment of the Department of Health/Home Office review of health and social services for mentally disordered offenders and others requiring similar services was announced in November 1990. Four volumes of findings have since been published. This volume contains the reports of the community, hospital and prison advisory groups of the review, together with an overview by the Steering Committee. It should be read in conjunction with the other reports: Volume 3: Finance, staffing and training; Volume 4: The academic and research base; and Volume 5: Special issues and differing needs. Volume 1, A Final Summary Report, is available as Command Paper 2088.
