Prior to the Children Act, there was little contact between boarding schools and social services departments. Both therefore had natural anxieties about their new work together in relation to children's welfare, and both brought different traditions and viewpoints to the task. This report, by the Chief Inspector of Social Services in Oxfordshire, makes a valuable contribution to the further development of their co-operation by providing a concise account of the views of pupils.
