Synopsis
Huey P Long came into this world talking and never did stop. He talked his way up -- from travelling cooking-oil salesman to governor, then all the way to the US Senate. Along the way, he helped many people and enraged others. Long rebuilt the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, paved roads, and built bridges. He established a state-wide charity hospital system to provide the poor population with free medical care and provided free textbooks to schoolchildren. Then, gun shots echoed through the capitol building. Carl Weiss, a local dentist, assassinated Huey P Long, Louisiana's most outspoken politician. This is a simple way for children to learn about the man who changed Louisiana for the better. His life is also a lesson in the value of helping others.
