Synopsis

The financial regulations that result from the 1993 Charities Act affect every Church school (over 5,200 schools). This booklet has been developed by the National Society's legal and financial advisers and has been checked with the Charity Commission. The final draft of the text, The School Standards and Framework Act 1998, became law, gives advice appropriate both to the period during which the provisions of this Act are being implemented and for the more straightforward situation thereafter. The book is designed principally to meet the needs of those governors and school staff who have to deal with the financial administration of the school or governors' accounts.
