Synopsis

At the age of 39, Carey Marx has set himself a task: to find a woman and marry her by the end of August 2005.This book tells the story of the six months in which Carey seeks to find himself a wife. Through advertisements on the internet, on the radio and in magazines, and through friends (not least his publishing colleagues) he sets out to meet as many women as possible who could prove to be The One.But Carey knows that he needs to make sure he is Her One too and his quest includes making himself eligible to the women he meets. He takes fighting lessons so he can protect his wife, learns poetry, stops smoking, overhauls his wardrobe, and takes advice from the so-called experts.The result is a book bubbling with moments of hilarity and touching personal revelations as well as a lot of chaos and stress for Carey as he juggles his diary of dates.
