Synopsis

In "The Burning Lake", Alexei Volkovoy - better known as Volk - returns to America, this time to the glittering neon jungle of Las Vegas. Urged by journalist Ilya Jakobs to investigate the deaths of four students in Siberia, allegedly at the hands of American agents working for a hard-line faction within the Kremlin, Volk finds himself both the hunter and the hunted in this high-voltage thriller. Carrying assassination orders from the Kremlin, Volk plunges into the seamy underbelly of Las Vegas' casinos and alleyways, tracking his prey from the Foundation Room to the Sierra Nevadas. Death stalks him around every corner, and Volk must move more swiftly than ever to untangle this international conspiracy run by the ruthless and the lawless.
