Arthur Smith
Arthur Smith is a comedian, writer and broadcaster who, apart from being the self-proclaimed Mayor of Balham, has written four plays including An Evening with Gary Lineker which was nominated for an Olivier Award. He has played all over the country, including the Comedy Store, Jongleurs, and assorted West End theatres, and is a stalwart of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also appeared on dozens of television programmes such as Grumpy Old Men and Have I Got News For You; he wrote and presented The Smith Lectures on Radio 2, and is a regular guest on Radio 4's Loose Ends. He lives in Balham.
