The photocopiable activities in this book on mathematics aim to give young children a wide range of maths experiences and cover counting, number, pattern, sorting, matching, comparing, shape and space. One of a series, these books provide new activities that build on the ideas in the first six books in the "Learning in the Early Years" series. They aim to provide educators of 3-5 year-olds with a collection of ready-made photocopiable activity ideas based on the Desirable Outcomes. The sheets make use of many of the resources typically found in any nursery, such as paints, scissors, counters and glue. All the ideas are supported by notes for the adult, explaining the ways in which the sheet can be used and giving clear learning objectives. The main introduction to the book suggests ways of adapting the sheets to suit individual needs and to provide links with home.
