Synopsis

Stories and poems connect children throughout the world like rivers flowing from country to country. Stories and poems can encourage children to learn about the world of other children, in other places. A River of Stories uses water as its theme to celebrate such imaginative cultural connections. A River of Stories recognises the 125th anniversary of the foundation of Commonwealth Education Trust. The book is a 160-page, full colour anthology of children's stories and poems from each of the 54 Commonwealth member states and is dedicated to the children of the Commonwealth. The foreword to the collection is written by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and the book is illustrated by Jan Pieńkowski, an award-winning illustrator and author of children’s books.
