Synopsis

This title deals with the interrelationship of mind, body, emotions and spirit for people who have little idea of what meditation is about and those who understand mantras and mudras. Jonathan Aitken is the former Conservative Cabinet Minister who fell from power and grace and committed perjury in the High Court. After a spell in Belmarsh Prison, he became interested in theology, prayer and meditation and immersed himself in techniques of contemplation. His daughter Alexandra, after a wild life in London, moved to Los Angeles where she now practises as a fully qualified Yoga teacher. This book draws on both areas of experience. After some autobiographical background, the main core of the book is a great deal of practical, down-to-earth lessons in the art and technique of meditation by an accomplished practitioner. Jonathan Aitken tops and tails each chapter by relating the techniques to the Christian tradition. The book is illustrated throughout with line drawings.
