About the author, Carmen Bugan

Author Carmen Bugan.
Carmen Bugan was born in 1970 in the Romanian countryside, the eldest of three children.
She discovered the healing aspects of writing at an early age, when her father, political dissident Ion Bugan, was imprisoned for protesting against Ceausescu's government, and she addressed her poems to his photos.
She completed her high school studies in Romania in 1988, and shortly thereafter the Bugans were exiled to the United States under threat of death. Carmen is currently researching the secret files that the Romanian Secret Police had kept on her and her family.
She now lives near Geneva, Switzerland, with her husband and two children.
