Waterstones Reserve & Collect
Whether you are looking for the latest bestseller or a much-loved classic, you can now reserve your book on Waterstones.com and then collect it from your local Waterstones.
Simply search for the book on our website and then check availability at Waterstones bookshops near you. If it is in stock locally you can place a Reserve & Collect order, and then the shop will contact you to confirm that your chosen book has been put aside, ready for you to pick up at a time that suits you over the following five days.
Reserve & Collect at Campus shops
If you're shopping for textbooks you can also use our Reserve & Collect service at all of our campus bookshops; Durham University, Hull University, Derby University, Keele University, Birmingham University, Swansea University, Worcester University, City University, The Economist Bookshop, UEA and Essex University.
If you're shopping online for delivery to your home address or to one of our shops you may also qualify for an extra 10% off with Unidays.
Find the book you're interested in on
Waterstones.com. If it is in stock in at least one of our shops there will be a Reserve & Collect button on the right hand side of the page. Click on this.
Enter your postcode on
the 'Check availability' page, and the shops nearest to this location which have at least one copy in stock will be listed for you. Choose which Waterstones you want to collect from and click the Reserve & Collect button next to that shop.
Enter your details on the reservation
form, making sure that you fill in all the fields, and also select how you would like your local Waterstones to contact you about your reservation. Don't forget to sign up for our newsletter too - it's a great way to hear about all the latest book news, shop
events and new releases.
When you press the Reserve button,
you will see a thank you screen. A couple of minutes later you will receive an email confirming that your reservation is being processed. Within two hours (during the working day) the shop will contact you to confirm that they have your book ready for you to collect.
Please do not travel to the shop until they have confirmed that they have your book.
If you haven't heard from the shop, or you have any questions about your reservation please contact the shop directly.
Once confirmed, your reserved item will be held at the Order Desk in the shop for five days. You will pay the online price (at time of reservation) when you collect your book.
What should I bring when I collect my Reserve & Collect item?
Please make sure that you have your Reserve & Collect Order Number with you, either on a printed copy of your confirmation email or on your smartphone.
How do I pay for my Reserve & Collect item?
You will pay for your reserved item in the Waterstones bookshop when you collect it. The price to be paid will be the price advertised online when the Reserve & Collect reservation was made.
What happens if the price is cheaper in the Waterstones shop I am collecting from?
You will always pay the lower price. More often this will be the one on Waterstones.com, but if the shop you are collecting from has the item at a lower price, then that is what you will pay.
Can I use online voucher codes when paying for a Reserve & Collect item?
No. To take advantage online voucher codes, items must be ordered and paid for on Waterstones.com.
Do I earn points on Reserve & Collect purchases?
Yes, Waterstones Card points will be earned in the same way as usual in line with the Terms and Conditions of the Waterstones Card scheme. Please be aware that if an item is in an online-only points offer, this will not be applied to Reserve & Collect items.
Can I reserve more than one copy of a book using Reserve & Collect?
If you want more than one copy of a book, you will need to place a reservation for each copy required. Due to the popularity of many titles and the number of copies that may be available at any one time, we do recommend that you either order online or speak to the shop directly if you are ordering more than a couple of copies of any one item.
Is Reserve & Collect available in all Waterstones bookshops?
Unfortunately this service is not currently available in our European shops, though we hope to extend it to Europe at a later date.
Can I use the Reserve & Collect service on my mobile?
Yes. Reserve & Collect is available on our mobile site (m.waterstones.com) and on our Android, iPhone and iPad Apps.
