Welcome to Waterstones Booksellers in Amsterdam - the home of English books in The Netherlands.

You can find us in the heart of Amsterdam's book district on the corner of Kalverstraat and Spui, in a listed building which was designed by reknowned architect Berlage.

First opening as Waterstones in 1998, the store has a relaxed ambience, with knowledgeable, book-loving staff.

We're more than just a large general English language bookstore however. Aswell as providing a large range of books we have greeting cards, a small range of British food, games, magazines and newspapers over four floors. We also specialise in English and Dutch as a second language, Children's books, books about living and working in the Netherlands and Dutch fiction in English translation.

We aim to cater to everyone; Amsterdammers, Expats and tourists alike.

We also place great emphasis on personal recommends from our booksellers, which you'll find throughout the store and we currently run 2 book groups in contemporary and classic fiction. We can also order any available book or DVD at no extra charge.

Ultimately we want you to enjoy your visit to our store and leave with the right books for you - we love books, we love reading and we love helping people find great books to read.

Welkom bij Waterstones Booksellers in Amsterdam – the Home of English books in Nederland - Sinds 1998 is Waterstones gevestigd in een monumentaal Berlage-pand op de hoek van Kalverstraat en Spui middenin het boekenhart van Amsterdam.

De winkel heeft een ontspannen sfeer en deskundig personeel dat houdt van boeken en lezen. Maar we zijn meer dan een algemene Engelstalige boekwinkel : naast een ruime sortering boeken hebben we tijdschriften en kranten, wenskaarten en bordspelen en een kleine sortering Britse voedingsmiddelen.

We adviseren en hebben materiaal voor studie van Engels en Nederlands als tweede taal, hebben boeken over wonen en werken in Nederland en Nederlandse fictie vertaald in het Engels.

Goede klantenservice staat bij ons hoog in het vaandel, We geven advies op maat en kunnen elk leverbaar boek en dvd voor u bestellen, zonder extra kosten.

U kunt als school, bedrijf of instelling een rekening bij ons openen. Een toegewijd team staat klaar voor al uw vragen.

Maar vooral willen we dat u een prettig bezoek hebt aan onze winkel en dat u met de juiste boeken de deur uitgaat - Wij houden van boeken, van lezen en delen graag deze passie door u te helpen mooie boeken te ontdekken.

Waterstones Brussels is the biggest English language bookshop in Belgium with a staff of dedicated book lovers. The shop has been in Brussels since 1921, first trading under WHSmith, but trading as Waterstones since 1997.

We are well known for our excellent choice of fiction, children's books and books on politics, business and history. We also carry a large selection of directly imported English and American magazines as well as DVDs, audio CDs, greeting cards, games and we have a great range of British food products on sale.

We have hundreds of books on offer at discounted prices each month, our most popular promotion being 3 for 2, where you can buy 3 books and get the cheapest one free.

If after browsing through the thousands of titles we have in stock, you cannot find the book you are looking for, our Customer Order Department will gladly order it for you at no extra charge from the United Kingdom or the USA provided it is still in print.
