Welcome to
Nottingham Bridlesmith Gate

Waterstones is Nottingham's biggest and brightest bookshop.

Situated on Bridlesmith Gate in the heart of the East Midlands shopping capital we offer a peerless range of titles.

As well as four floors of books, we host a Paperchase store on the ground floor and a Costa Coffee on the third. We also boast one of the finest purpose built events rooms of any bookstore in the UK, which was opened by and named after Nottingham's most famous author, the late, great Alan Sillitoe. We have hosted events with some of the most popular and prestigious authors in the world, including David Attenborough, Jonathan Dimbleby, Melvyn Bragg and Will Self. Recent events highlights have featured Bret Easton Ellis, Dom Joly, Levi Roots and Nottingham's football legend, Viv Anderson. The store has had an extensive refit, improving the layout and increasing our range of books. With generations of bookselling experience between us, we can help you find that perfect gift, or that next book you will fall in love with!
