Author of the novel, The Gargoyle ...
Andrew Davidson was born in Canada, got out for a while, but now is back. He grew up in the town of Pinawa Manitoba, and lived there until he was eighteen. He spent most of his twenties in Vancouver, British Columbia. The first five years of his thirties he lived in Japan, with three of those years in Tokyo. He now lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Davidson prefers to write overnight, as sunlight disorients him. Next to his work desk, he has rigged an intravenous drip to deliver coffee into a medically implanted spout at the side of his throat, because drinking from a cup is so twentieth century. He claims that he once wrestled a grizzly bear, and really gave the ursine beast the what-for.
The Gargoyle is Davidson's first novel.

"An incredibly powerful and visceral fiction debut from Andrew Davidson, which after the teeth-clenching horrors of the early chapters, explodes in a firework display of virtuoso storytelling and invention that invites comparison with the likes of Herman Hesse, Umberto Eco and David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas. One of the books of the year, and a hugely impressive first novel."
