Andrew Greig

Biography

Date of birth: 19 June 1947

Andrew Greig is an award-winning Scottish writer and poet. Along with novels, he's also written books of poetry, short stories, and some works of non-fiction. His account of the successful ascent of the Mustagh Tower, Summit Fever: An Armchair Climber's Initiation to Glencoe, Mortal Terror and the Himalayan Matterhorn, was shortlisted for the Boardman Tasker Memorial Prize.

Greig was born in Bannockburn, Scotland, and grew up in Anstruther, Fife. He was educated at the University of Edinburgh and is a former Glasgow University Writing Fellow and Scottish Arts Council Scottish/Canadian Exchange Fellow.

He lives in Orkney and South Queensferry.
