Vladmimir Nabokov is in many ways the ultimate writer's writer: an obsessive perfectionist whose novels continue to inspire and delight novelists, filmmakers and people with a love for language. So it's hardly surprising that his final, uncompleted novel, The Original of Laura has caused such excited speculation among fans. Now, after gaining permission from Nabokov's son Dmitri, it has finally seen the light of day, published in a beautiful edition by Penguin Books, reproducing the 138 index cards on which it was written.

In celebration of the book's appearance, we are hosting a very special event tonight at the Prince Charles Cinema off London's Leicester Square. Novelists Ian McEwan and Adam Thirlwell will be joining with Sarah Churchwell and Claire Armitstead from The Guardian to discuss Nabokov's legacy as a writer. And to open the event, we're very excited to be showing an exclusive reading of The Original of Laura by Wire actor Dominic West.
