Availability
Each product page gives a 'Usually despatched' time which is an indicator (not a guarantee) on how long it will take us to ship your order.
If, at the time of your order, an item is out of stock, we will place an order from our suppliers. We keep in close contact with our suppliers and usually place orders, with the majority of them, on a daily basis.
Stock levels
On a product detail page you will also see the current stock position in our warehouse for that item. If you require more copies of a book than the quantity shown please contact customer service. The maximum quantity shown will be 10+, so if you require more than 10 copies of a particular title you should also contact customer service to confirm availability and likely distribution time.
Please note: orders for multiple copies of the same title may take longer to fulfill.
Special orders
If your order status is a 'Special order' then you can rest assured that the utmost is being done to acquire your item. However, delays may occur if the item is out of stock with the suppliers.
Please note: we endeavour to bring our customers the best value we can by running special offers across the Waterstone's categories, but please remember stocks are limited and subject to availability. Certain items may also be restricted to one copy per customer - this will be indicated on the website if appropriate. In these circumstances, we may amend your order prior to despatch. We aim to update our website as quickly as possible in order to minimise possible disappointment. The price at which the goods are offered for sale are as displayed in your shopping basket. Rest assured that your credit card will only be debited as your order, or individual items from your order, are despatched. Your payment card will not be charged until your order is shipped. We ship orders six days a week (Monday to Saturday).
New Publications
We aim to despatch new release products one to two working days before the official release in order for you to receive them as soon as they are available. Prices may change prior to the release date. If the price is lower than when you placed your order, we will ensure that your order is amended before it is shipped, matching the price displayed on the site. Don't worry if the price goes up, you will still pay the lower price.
Limited Products
On some occasions, goods can be limited to a small number of copies. Products will state 'One copy per customer'. Any orders placed for multiple copies will be amended to one copy. We will also cancel orders that are placed separately for the same item. This is in the interests of fairness for all of our customers.
Signed Products
We are happy to offer products that are signed by the author. Unfortunately the number of copies are always very limited. This means we cannot guarantee that every customer will receive the signed version.
It is advisable to order these limited items individually as other products in your order may cause a delay.
Please be aware that multiple orders/copies for signed goods may not be completely fulfilled and the quantities may be changed. This is in the interests of fairness and makes the chance of receiving a signed copy as equal as possible for all of our customers.
Offer(s) of the week
Our Offer(s) of the week selection update overnight on Wednesday/Thursday of each week. The graphics showing the new selection of titles should be live between 08.00 and 09.00 GMT on the Thursday morning. The end-date for the offers is clearly indicated on our campaign banner.
