Getting started
As a new customer of Waterstones.com, you will need to register your details with us. This ensures that we have all the information we need in the unlikely event of problems with your order.
To register, you will need to follow the 'My account' link at the top of this page. You will be redirected to a 'New customer - create account' dialogue box. To register we require a valid email address and a billing address that corresponds with the address at which your debit/credit card is registered.
Once we have the information you will be able to start shopping.
As a registered customer, you can sign up to newsletters and Waterstone's free email news service. You will also be able to enter competitions, read reviews, and pre-order forthcoming releases.
In addition, registering with the site allows you to create 'Wish lists' of items that you can send to your friends and family via email.
As you browse through the store you can add items to your 'Shopping basket'. You can add or remove items at any time, prior to completeing your purchase at the 'Checkout'. If you are a frequent user, you may wish to set up an 'Express checkout' profile. The site will store your preferences, making it possible for you to make your purchases instantly.
Once your order is submitted, a confirmation message will be sent to your registered email address. You can keep yourself updated by using the 'My orders' page. Our site is secure and we will only take payment on despatch of your item.
