Unfortunate news
Dear Reader,
Last September 1,500 secondary schools throughout the country took part in five creative writing lessons which focused on A Series of Unfortunate Events. The lessons culminated in the pupils writing their own unfortunate event, and the 13 best (or worst) entries were chosen to be published.
Booklets containing the winning entries will be available in Waterstone's stores from 19 March, but if you just can't wait to read the stories, you can download them now. (PDF 391KB)
While you're with us, do take time to enjoy the other unfortunate content on this page...
Exclusive video interview with Daniel Handler
It could be considered foolish to watch this exclusive, but unfortunate video interview with Lemony Snicket alter ego, Daniel Handler; as it will probably only bring you misery and despair. But, should you have nothing better to do, then you can watch it now.
Stuck on you
You could cut these stickers out and stick them to a favourite exercise book or your brother's forehead. But for the sake of everyone's happiness, it is suggested that you stick the sticky stickers to a stick and throw it as far away as possible.

Downloadable wallpaper
You probably shouldn't download this woeful wallpaper. A picture of your pet rabbit would be far more pleasant. But if you insist, you need to chose big or small depending on how wealthy your parents are and therefore how big your computer screen is.
