This year we celebrate 10 years of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Looking back at all the fabulous books that have walked away with a shiny trophy and – let’s not be shy here – a lovely fat cheque, we got to wondering just what goes into writing a book worthy of the prize. To that end we asked our nine winning authors, from 2005’s Stuart Hill to 2013’s Annabel Pitcher, a series of questions cunningly devised to reveal the hidden truths about writing brilliant books for children. We put the results into the computer, added lots of bright paint and hey presto! The world’s first literary prize Infographic! We hope you enjoy it!
This year’s winner will be announced on 3rd April.
