The follow up to last year’s The Cuckoo’s Calling is coming this June…
For some, it may not be quite as exciting as a new Harry Potter, but Robert Galbraith (A.K.A. J.K. Rowling) is to publish a second novel starring detective Cormoran Strike.
Announced on Galbraith’s own website, The Silkworm is due to be published on 19th June. The book sees Strike investigating the disappearance of novelist Owen Quine. Strike discovers Quine brutally murdered, leaving behind a manuscript full of poison pen portraits of his real life associates – which place all of them under suspicion.
With the first Strike adventure - The Cuckoo’s Calling – being published in paperback last week, the uninitiated have something to keep them occupied whilst they await the second book.
Rowling had originally maintained the secret of her pseudonym until she was forced to reveal it following a leak. The Cuckoo’s Calling was her second book for adult readers after The Casual Vacancy, which she published under her own name.
