Book of the Month – March

Instructions For A HeatwaveOur Book of the Month for February is Instructions For A Heatwave, by Maggie O’Farrell.

Set during the heatwave of 1976, this novel is a compelling portrait of a family forced together when their father vanishes one day. Mother, son, sister or spouse, each family member has their own story to tell and Maggie O’Farrell manages to weave each life seamlessly and effortlessly together to create a compassionate and often humorous book.

Maggie visited our Piccadilly bookshop this week to read an extract from the book and to discuss her work with journalist and fellow novelist Elizabeth Day.
